Skewer dinner...
« on: March 01, 2013, 10:26:54 AM »
A kebob race with my FireWire. Hum..im blank atm..i will explaine as we go!

Dont blink:

FireWire with: Marinated shrooms/vacum marinated P-loin/bells/onion/Pre boiled taters...asparagus taters?..first for me but they were almost as good as the price. First time i ever used the vaccum "Box" with my foodsaver. Thought it was a hype...But hey it works even if it was only a 3h marinate time.(marinated in Stubbs original)

Indirect Medium fire: (about 30 mins..1 flip)

Then direct 1min/side...

Off the Skewers...Like a box of chocolate..Pick your favorite..

Kids love it...(not when the glassy red onion was picked) Served with a simple everything.(no need to add any extra on this one)

A great meal...And i have seen the sun for the first time this week. Spring..Here We go!  8)

Thx for your time ppl!

Awesome looking kabobs!! Well done. Vacuum marinating is money when you only have a few hours. We do it a lot.

First off thanks..

If i like em? Oh yea...The meat/everything can rotate with the skewer.= (Not cool)  But after a few cooks you know how to handle em.(only sear 2 sides) And i could add another one with no problem @ all. Try 70" of skewers on your grill. Its a cool one!

So, pretty satisfied with how they work as soon as you get the hang of it?

I would guess so, the food looks great !!!!!

They have a decent looking set of those wires at Lucky's supermarket for under $5. I might have to try a set. Do you prefer the wires over a vegetable basket?

I've thought about getting those as well.  It looks great.  Photography is always A+ as usual.  Do you do photography professionally at all?

Jeff: "you do photography professionally at all?" - Haha No! I have a decent camera(canon EOS55D) But i almost always shoot in "auto" mode. Some pics turn out good some dont. Thats why i take more pics then i need. But thanks.

I've seen those on Woot from time to time and wondered... But I'm not big on kebobs. I find that different things take different times so instead I use a CI grate with closely spaced bars (so smaller food does not escape to the fire) which makes it easier to cook things at different heat settings or times. However I do skewer shrimp and moinks to make them easier to handle.
