Flat Top "Outback" for Sale
« on: June 16, 2015, 10:03:51 AM »
This thing is cheap! Looks to be in good shape too. No room in the inn (my garage) at the moment. But for $75 without the tank it's a steal.

I would be leaving work early and on my way if that was here in AZ. I'd love to have one of those.

If I had the room I would have bought it long ago. I saw it right after it was posted. It looks to be in nice shape too.

Is that a GA lid or the food warmer that came with that model?
If it's the warmer it would be worth seeing if they would sell it separately. Very cool accessory

Looks like a GA lid to me. But then again I don't know what the food warmer looks like.

I did just realize that the one in the add is only a four burner. I didn't think those had that food warmer thing.

Hi Saugust,
the add you 'found' is actually Australian. The FT-400 & FT-600 as I understand it were basically produced because Australians did not understand/want the gassers with a lid.

They are simply the Summits of the day, without a lid. Some were sold in the USA, not many. But they are fairly common here. They were sold as Summits in the USA, but just as FT-400/FT-600 here.

Good info @vmile! I'd like to own the one I found on Craigslist, but without a lid I have no idea what I'd use it for. Especially if it doesn't have the griddle.

Once you convert to cooking with a lid down, it becomes a problem as to what to use them for. The only real use I have found for my FT-600 was the morning-after party for our daughters 21st, where I set it up with 2 griddles and one grill- one griddle dedicated to bacon, one griddle dedicated to frying eggs and the grill used for toasting bread rolls. To make egg and bacon rolls in quantity, they are the machine.

@SixZeroFour did you have a four or six burner? What led you to get rid of it?
