Can someone who has a gas kettle grill measure the metal portion of the handle for me? I need to fabricate a new one for my grill restoration project and they look taller than a normal kettle handle.

Dimensions I need:

Height from the weld point up to top where the bend is.
Length of handle from post to post
Width and thickness of metal handle.

Also, do the gas kettles use one screw or two rivets? and is the handle plain or does it have the etched logo and lines?

The handle is single screw with logo and lines, the older ones had single screw
Handle height is 80mm( you'll have to do the conversion) and the width is the same as a standard kettle handle

This forum is pretty awesome.  You were asking a question about a grill, of which there are two known examples on the entire planet, where the information that could also help you involved poorly selling grills that haven't been in stores in over 30 years, and you got exactly the answer you were looking for, in a little more than seven hours, from somebody on the other side of the planet.  Bravo, @Hogsy and @AZRaptor!  God Bless the WKC!

Just for reference, I have an older  (heavy metal base, no louvers) kettle gasser, and the handle is double riveted.

Dude, relax your chicken.

Thx guys. WKC is a great source of helpful information and people.

Since there are examples of gassers with both kinds of handles I took another look at the pics of the other grill of this type and zooming in it looks like the handle on that one is a single screw attachment.

Nope, playing safe with fire.

The first ones had standoffs built into the lids to create the air gap. Think about the wok brackets, but on the inside.

Although, the ones on mine were missing (pulled off) when I got it.

So, did you add something in for a replacement?

Started to build some brackets, based on some original photos.

But changed my mind and did this instead...

Thanks jk,
Here's some light reading about the kettle gassers- http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-gas-grills-electric-cookers/solving-da-gasser-code/
I was thinking the MT handle would be the same height as the KG but the KG's handle is 1/4 inch taller
