Interesting. I always enjoy reading company history stuff like this.

Wasn't it also the early '80s, or mid '80s Weber was battling Happy Cooker? Wondering how those grills, and the squashing of them, hurt their resources to develop both Genesis and then Performer.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

That is an interesting article but what is even more interesting, to me anyways, is the junk laying on the floor and work benches in the pic. Its all R&D and thats what makes Webers work.

That is a great article.  I am very proud to own my Genesis 2004 model.  It still works great.  The only parts I needed to replace on it so far has been the caster wheels.
