This is a great read on the invention of the Weber Genesis (http://www.weber.com/weber-nation/blog/class-of85-the-creators-of-the-genesis)

Interesting. I always enjoy reading company history stuff like this.

Wasn't it also the early '80s, or mid '80s Weber was battling Happy Cooker? Wondering how those grills, and the squashing of them, hurt their resources to develop both Genesis and then Performer.

Good read. Interesting to think that if they didn't have a bunch of gasser tubes laying around we wouldn't have GA kettles.

Ty for posting

That is an interesting article but what is even more interesting, to me anyways, is the junk laying on the floor and work benches in the pic. Its all R&D and thats what makes Webers work.

That is a great article.  I am very proud to own my Genesis 2004 model.  It still works great.  The only parts I needed to replace on it so far has been the caster wheels.
