I pulled out my stash of recipe books today and decided to try something simple and old school. I made burgers with tips from the 1958 Weber cookbook pamphlet. The "twist" to this old favorite come from using pretzel buns instead of regular. I used red onions instead of white (it's what I had in the house) and I added some turkey bacon. (Again, it's what I had in the house) and I do like turkey bacon once in a while for good measure. Of course nothing beats diesel (pig).

Yes... I sautéed the onions on the stove....as most may have done back then. Unless your name was George Stephen of course.

All in all it was good eating. I used 2 lbs of hamburger and doubled the salt/pepper/onion ingredients. It was a win! Thanks for looking!
