Smoki'n in the rain
« on: November 16, 2012, 08:23:59 AM »
I threw a chuck roast on this morning and it started pouring rain right after it went on.  ::)

Here it is rubbed down with Cowboy. I am cooking it on some Jack Daniels briquettes I got with a grill I picked up about two years ago. It also came with oak barrel scraps for smoke wood, so we'll see how good that combination works.

I will update this thread later.

Yes Ron, It's running at 250 right now even though the wind picked up and it spiked up to 325. I didn't slather it with mustard for extra bark either, which is also a good idea if you like lots of bark.  I am going to pull it and foil it between 190 and 200. I will be shredding it after about a half hour to an hours rest.

I just added the probe. Here's the latest shot of it at 165 and I added the spuds.

Almost looks like pulled pork.

I've never thought of pulled beef.

Looks GOOD!

The probe is attached to a Polder. Not ketchup, it's a little Texas style bbq sauce. I always add a dash on the side since it doesn't always need it. :)
