Okay, I called and asked about the fire issue.  They said it could potentially be a problem if there is a fire ban.  They said they only institute a fire ban if it is issued by Denton County.  He also said they have not had a fire ban all year, so he does not expect it to be a problem.  He said Denton County normally updates it the Monday or Tuesday before that weekend, so we should have plenty of time to change if the issue arises.

Summed up, I think we can move forward with West Lake Park being the spot!

I know I'm late to the party and I would love to meet some of ya'll, but dallas is 4+hrs away. any thoughts on coming a little further south?

This doesn't have to be an only once a year meet up.  What about continuing forward with this one, then scheduling one a little later in the Fall in Central Texas?
