Nope, the shield is 100% intact with the same clearance as a 22.5" MT.

So you were just able to drill the side of the handle to accept the Master Touch Therm and aluminum cover?    (Thinking of a future project over here!)    :o

Did you slice the top of the handle and re-form it for higher clearance?
