How Cheesy - Pork Chops and taters on the 26er
« on: October 23, 2015, 04:14:25 PM »
OK so this is my first cook on the 26 that I got a few weeks back

I did do a smoke and high heat empty kettle cook to seal it up but this is the first with food,  and even then I didn't get it dirty as I got the cast iron out

Pork Chops topped with Mozz Cheese and cream of Mush
Potatoes cooked in Onions and garlic topped with cheddar.

First, one of the benefits of Winter, I get the patio all to myself and can layout all the grills

On to the cook

Prep

Lovin this real estate

Sorry for the blurring photo

Great looking cook! Love the real estate on the 26ers too.

I just put a pork butt on one with the older grate, and was kind of thinking I wish I had the newer grates (I know they don't fit the older 26ers). But that extra couple of inches would be nice.

Food looks great! I've been wondering if the modern 26 grate would fit my expanded ring I use on Chief and Big red.

Great write-up and pictorial, Jeff.  Very nice patio, too.  If I don't get lazy, it's almost cheese-smoking time …  ;) ;)

I have my Red and the Detroit Lions Master-touch in the shed tucked away for the winter, I also have the midget 18 in the shed I should get that one out and add to the layout.
