Howdy folks.

I'm searching for a new kettle and found this forum! Any other Canadians here? Been using an 18.5 for over 10 years now I think. It's an AA code. So 2011.  I don't use it every day. Maybe once or twice a month depending. I'm a weekend warrior when it comes to cooking.

Some of my favourite things to make are
cedar plank salmon
smoked wings using my self made vortex
pork roasts
beer can chicken (gotta use with the vortex upside down)
burgers
and charred veggies

I just noticed they came out with a 70th edition. Wow thats super temping to buy right now but I think i'll save my money and buy a used one.  Been looking for a 22" master touch or a 26" but don't see many used ones for sale around me. Also interested in the performers if I can find the right one. I really like the stainless steel models.

Cheers folks.

No, they are awesome grills, sometime the insert nuts in the tubes can rust and get loose but they are repairable as well

Awesome, I'm super excited. Seller got back to me and I'm picking it up this weekend for $350 CAD.

So I picked up the SSP. It was in good shape. Feel like I maybe over paid. Excitement kinda got the better of me when I went to look at it. Didn't even check the igniter. It wasn't working when I got it home. But it didn't take too much to get it working. There was a lot more caked on grease and ash than I expected. It took a lot of elbow grease to get it clean. But it turned out really well. Everything works. I cleaned every square inch of this thing. Replaced the inner vent fins. Also bought a couple new grates.

Got a chuck roast planned for it tomorrow.

Also have a temp gauge on the way that I plan on putting thru the vent rivet hole.

Here are some pics.

Cheers
