Weber Kettle Club Forums

Welcome to the 2021 WKC Secret Santa - a fun way to to get to know more members and end the year with some holiday cheer.  Secret Santa is pretty simple, we'll blindly exchange names/addresses and do a little gift swap by mail. It's fun to get a grill-related gift and even more fun to give something nice to your fellow WKCers.

General Rules:

- $20 minimum suggested value. No maximum limit. Give from the heart, but don't tap your retirement fund. Make it personal. Keep it simple.
- Sign up deadline: Black Friday, November 26th. 8pm EST.
- Ship via trackable shipping method in time to arrive before the end of the year. Shop early. Ship Early.
- Due to complications with shipping/customs/logistics internationally, this will be a US/Canada event only again this year.
- WKC is not responsible for lost or damaged packages.
- Don't ship anything illegal, regardless what your member match is begging for.
- Once you sign up and complete the survey, you're in. No backing out at the last minute. Non-shipment and non-communication will be a banable offense.

You will be asked for your real name, your WKC screen name, address phone number and email address, along with gift ideas and other interests. After November 27, you will be sent your SS member's info via. PM. Here's the link to the survey:

Once you have completed the above survey, copy the numbered Secret Santa list below and past with your name below so folks can see who is participating.

To keep things simple, we'll use this same thread to reveal gifts as they arrive. Feel free to post your haul, but you are under no obligation to do that.

The sign up link has been corrected. It should now show the required questions to be filled out.  I also changed the setting so members can go back and change or update information they submitted.

@stillgriller  and  @michaelmilitello  - Could you both please add your email address and phone numbers to your forms.  If you have trouble adding that information, send me a WKC PM with the information and I will add it to the Secret Santa sign up form.

With a baby coming in February, my wife and I aren't even getting each other presents this year.  I would feel bad getting someone here something (no offense to anyone!) and not anything for her.  Also, the last two times I did this, I had to get presents for people who literally only participated in the forums on the Secret Santa thread.  Glad to see that most of the names on the list this year seem to be regulars.

Wow, with all due respect seeing as you have been here much longer than me or most here, your lack of support and participation could be a reason.  There are some here that participate, drive interest with new ideas and welcome others.  If welcoming new members and engaging in the fun is not your cup of tea, then maybe it's time to move on.  It's the way of the world.....

And with all due respect back, you have no idea and no context for my statement.  I spoke no ill will of anyone or situation only to state there are many factors.  While I have my personal reasons for being less engaged(which is no ones business but mine), there are other factors at play as to why Forums such as this are a dying medium(Facebook groups, less people use PC's and forums are not mobile device friendly).  I will always be on the board so long as I am a collector of kettles, but I assure you my participation is the least of the issues as to why overall participation is waning.

Yeah forums were a dying breed in 2012 when we started
all the "good ol days" saltiness doesn't fit the spirit of WKC IMO, especially in a Secret Santa thread

My Secret Santa 2021 gift arrived today... kudos to Secret Santa @Scott Zee!  You went above and beyond!

I received a very nice package shipped from SNS Grills... it contained the 18" spin grate and charcoal basket!  They'll be put to use this weekend!

Thank you Secret Santa. Wow, I must have been a good boy in 2021. Somebody did their homework too Haha.... Apparently Santa does not have lime or yellow 18" kettles at the North Pole.

Santa delivered a SnS grills 22" flat plancha. I'm not one for letting bbq tools collect dust. I seasoned it up and made smash burgers. Burgers were fantastic with a nice crust.

Needless to say I'm a frequent visitor.  Buffalo Bills is about 5 miles from me.  BTW, Buffalo Bills Brewery is listed as America's First Brewpub on Wikipedia and has been inducted into the Smithsonian American History Museum.

Glad you like the gifts Daniel.  I've used both of these rubs and really like them - SPG on steaks and Dirty Bird on chicken wings and thighs.  I hope the sauces are good too!  We have these steak knives too and really like them.

I finally got around to brisket using the Oak Ridge Black Ops brisket rub I was gifted.
I got a whole brisket, but I separated the flat for this cook. I hope I left enough fat on it, and I'll need some ideas for the point. It needed cut to fit. It does feel like a bit of a betrayal to the forum.  ;)

That's funny.... But I get it, I kinda felt the same way when I posted a cook on my KJ.  I've since grilled on my 26", an OTP and a Weber gasser so I'm back to feeling loyal lol.  I'll still use the kamado for sure.....
