Title: Ribs n Corn
Post by: bamakettles on August 29, 2021, 04:35:47 PM
3 racks of pork spare ribs today on the 22" WSM....varied seasonings and glazes including Meat Church, Kosmos and even Frank's Sweet Chili sauce on one for the Mrs..... shared a rack with my neighbor too.  Happy with the results!

I use an oversized water bowl filled with sand, covered with foil in mine.  Sat on 265F no matter what I did..... felt like I was cheating, even had a bit of wind due to tropical conditions headed our way.  Love cooking on a WSM.....

I went with spare ribs due to cost - about half price of BB at Costco this weekend.  These were $10/rack and were actually better than the previous few BB cooks I've done.  I'll gladly do these again soon.

I agree, in my experience I've always enjoyed the spare rib over the baby back/loin back rib...why is that? Btw, those spares look very good.

Ok, did the same as you. St. Louis Spare Ribs, from Costco.
They turned out good. Smoked them on my offset smoker.

Here is the best part, I copied A. Franklin's rib rub recipe. It is a winner!!!

You set the bar pretty high, so the pressure was on!
