Thought I'd start a new thread, so nobody (hopefully) misses it. We have a change of venue from
@zavod44's place for the event. Hosting this year's meetup is
@No1Agent (John) - his address is 9N836 Beckman Trail, Elgin, IL, 60124. Hope to see everyone there on Saturday, 7/27!
Looking forward to it. Gonna miss them loud pups at the end of the night though.

No idea what I'll bring.
BUT, I have a favor to ask anyone who will be traveling through St Louis or Northern MO (especially near Kirksville, MO) on the way back home.
I have a blue 22" LID ONLY to get to a member in MO who lives in Kirksville. He has relatives in St Louis that could pick it up from you & get it to him. He knows I plan on giving him the blue LID.
BUT, if you have enough room, I'd like to also surprise him with an SSP FRAME ONLY that he is seeking. If you don't have a truck, or need it more compact, I can take the frame apart, put fasteners in a plastic bag & send him a video of me taking it apart so he could piece it back together.
If you ONLY HAVE ROOM FOR THE LID, THAT IS FINE. I'd be happy with that.

So this will be my first meet up and I'm not sure how things work. Do we bring our own grills or will there be loaners available? I ask because I can bring my own but I want to experiment with a WSM. BYO charcoal? Besides the chicken I'm making what else should I bring?
Things to bring to meetup:
A camp chair, your beverage of choice, a grill if you would like to cook on your own, a special grill if you have something you want to put in the looker section.
Grilling utensils, your own charcoal if you have a preference.
Items for sale or trade.

Is there another place people are posting if they are attending the meetup and what they are cooking?
The list of attendees and food seems like it is missing quite a few people from years past.

So I really get the vibe that this year was really special from many people. I feel like this one rivaled year 5 in 2017. John has such a great place and perfect to setup the sweet grills. A few of us came in town the day before, at at Portillos for lunch hit the Weber store and started setting up before we went to dinner at the Weber Restaurant(Pics in another post). Here are a few pics of setup. I have a lot more pics, from my drone and from my actual camera

It was a great time. When we changed the location to
@No1Agent house I said we needed to do it to take the meet-up to the next level, and I think it was the right decision. We had over 20 members show up, over 80 grills, plenty of great food and great weather. I want to personally thank everyone who was there and I hope everyone will come back next year. A wide range of food was cooked and it was all fantastic.
@avega2792 made some phenomenal Peruvian chicken,
@Kneab did some amazing ribs,
@Scott Zee did all kinds of stuff but his blueberry dessert was remarkable.
@Shoestringshop lead the charge on the grill, he always makes something interesting,
@HankB did a pulled pork, Almost everyone cooked and it was a feast.
@PotsieWeber made a brief appearance, The
@Voordaddy slayed the bags game. Thank you to everyone who made the trip out, @jbiv and the lovely Tammy from the ATL,
@brewtownbeatdown @einrej and
@bladz from beyond the cheddar curtain,
@Craig from Nebraska,
@Bob BQ and
@Lowbrass from Stl,
@GrillGuyMosier from Ohio I think,
@LightningBoldtz from the Mitten State
@DonoBBQ made it out, and everyone else from everywhere who I can't remember but you know who you are, it was awesome......oh and
@Bertl was there in spirit and briefly on the phone!
Sorry I was there so briefly. I was trying not to let the wife know what I was doing. Wish I'd been there longer & earlier to see even more grills. Left in order to see a man about a grill. (Bought that gas kettle from Alfredo).
Was going to swing back over, but then started wondering what time my wife would get home & didn't want her to see the gasser sticking out of the top of the back of my Avalanche. So, I decided the prudent thing to do was get home first & put it somewhere & then give the old "that, I've had that one a very long time"

Grate day, wonderful time. Thank you John No1Agent for the use of your home and yard. Weather was a bit warm but still a beautiful day. My wife and I enjoyed the new location and the same old friends. Brian is still OK and the rest of the members are wonderful. I had such a good time, I'm ready to go back this weekend. Loved the fotos and aerial videos, only surpassed by the food.
I didn't come home with anything new but I didn't come home with anything old, thanks Brian. A trip to Illenous is only eclipsed by a return to Wisconsin. See you next year.

this should be a thread, and all the husbands (or wives) should post about the time they pulled the same thing.

Next time take the wife along with you and make her a part of the fun.
I imagined someone bringing up one of the LONG round trips I made & my wife being like, you drove THAT far for a stupid BBQ? It better not have been in MY car! I never had to have the oil changed before the date came up on the sticker, is THAT why we had to get that done recently?
Sad, we had a blast, and now I'm due an oil change(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/79922abede79ade0c70b15ea0c537882.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/b9d0f810f8537773348001029b809dd1.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/5d8cb17d3f25909dbe256fcfc2df4ee1.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/2da19a22f97471face8285e0b0532c7d.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/49480ffc19e66cd1385e854aa75ddbb1.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190730/5b93a0ae458052ef7ca0932cb4a6e1ba.jpg)

Huge, huge thanks to John for opening his house/yard up for this, as well as to the fellas who helped set everything up. Thank you Brian for the one-run only "7th Annual" swag. You're welcome Joe. I consider y'all the epitome of what this club is about, so anytime I can secure some

for the Ball estate, I don't hesitate. Especially, if it's for Tami

. You helped make sure I didn't go home with an empty truck bed either. Dennis, Bob, and Norbert finished it off, which rendered my rearview useless for the ride home
