Check your home depot. Just picked up 30 bags. It's all my commute car can handle. Not much a briquettes user but just can't pass up the price.

Sadly, no HD central Indiana has Weber that I can find.
They do have Kingsford blue twin 18.6 pound bags for $10. Lowes has the same for $12. Royal oak briquettes were $6 for 15 pounds too.

FYI. I recommend going to the store. I thought I was out of luck since online did not show anything in my location but the store had plenty. Got 22 bags today. Pretty excited, I enjoy cooking with this stuff but the regular price is too high in my opinion.

Thanks @Jules V. for starting this thread and @demosthenes9 for the link and the heads up about Brickseek. I had searched Home Depot's site this morning and it said no stores within 100 miles of me had any in stock. I just figured I had missed out. Once I used your link I found all my HD's each had over 100 in inventory marked clearance.
Picked up 30 bags (roughly 1/2 a pallet) and just finished stacking them in my garage.

Found some in Silver Spring MD, it's on clearance for $11 but rings up at $3.90. Also grabbed another iGrill3 for $25 (not marked as clearance here, but rings up at $25) also got my military discount on top of it all.

Picked up a bunch of bags even though I don't have to room to store anymore fuel in the garage. It was such a great deal though so I bought a Weber performer cover that was also on sale so they could be stored outside. Just don't trust the bags I got are waterproof since some had small holes and it also justifies getting the Weber cover....at least that's what I'll tell the wife.

So does anyone else think that this means home depot won't be carrying this in the future?
FYI the website showed 0 bags within 100 miles of me as of Friday. I have been to 2 different stores and found they had none available unfortunately. Told a buddy of mine in NJ about it and his store had plenty but they were all stocked up top and they needed the forklift to bring it down. Why slash the price of something and make it impossible to get?!?! lol

As to the first question, there are many theories floating around. The one I put most faith in is that Home Depot isn't going to carry it anymore, hence, the fire sale. Same thing happened back in 2017 with Weber Charcoal at Target. They completely bypassed the normal markdown/clearance cycle of incremental price drops and just cleared out inventory.

My guess is your store has not gotten around to posting the clearance price tag but it will come up in the computer at check out. My HD had is marked $14.06 on the isle but asked customer service to price check and rang it up at $3.90. Never hurts to ask.
Needless to say 20 bags ended up in the back of my truck. They had plenty more.

I just grabbed 15 bags today. I'm pretty sure that's all I can stash in the garage before a process server meets me outside with divorce papers.
I also picked up a new $70 "scissor-style" rolling cart for my Q1000 for $18.

When the Weber Briquettes first launched they were sold as stock #17950 but about a year later they changed the bag slightly (dimensions changed from 26.5"H X 7.5"W X 12.3"D to 29.5"H X 7.5"W X 12.25"D)
HD likely had a HUGE surplus of the original #17950 thus the huge blowout... they should still have the new stuff #17951 moving forward. No change to the actual product as far as I can tell and am told.

Matt is it possible that the different product numbers is due to one being Canadian and the other the US?
It crossed my mind that this might be a possibility, so I looked at starter cubes as a comparison. The product numbers for it differ between Canadian and US sites also.

I was told by the manager at Home Depot in Hickory North Carolina clearance around here was because red had faded. Weber told them to get rid of it

Possible... but here in Canada the bags were definitively originally the 17950 and the new ones have all been 17951 since mid summer. And all the bags I see being sold at HD are the older 17950 number....
I'll do a closer comparison later as I believe I have bags of each at home.

Slowly the mystery is unraveling!
The ORIGINAL #17950 Bags had all information in English, French and Spanish. They have since changed them to English only based on the pictures on the Weber USA site.
The NEW #17951 bag appears to be a Canadian Specific as it has only English and French (as required by law in Canada)
Beyond that there seems to be no difference.

I checked my local HD a week+ ago for this and they were out. I figured the metro areas was cleared out.

Just picked up 8 bags near me, they had 8-10 more but I still have a pretty big stash in my shed. When the snow melts off I will have to move what I bought to the shed. May be time for a bigger shed.
