In the ongoing evolution of Bisbee, there were a couple of new ideas I have been working on. First thing was to take off all the remaining silver parts, or parts that I had painted, and send them out to be powder coated in gloss black. I left the dog's feet their natural color : )

Next, I wanted to carry the copper theme to the lower rack. I had three 1/4" thick copper bars fabricated to replace the existing wire rack. At 1/4" thick, they are strong enough to eliminate the need for cross bracing.

I wanted to do an ash sweep mod as well, and procured this coin that came from Bisbee Arizona in the early 1900's. It is an authentic coin used to purchase cigars and tobacco from the EB Wallace store on Main street. I got some copper rod to replace the existing ash sweep bar.

Here is the new ash sweep installed. I also took the opportunity to install a position marker (copper themed). Thanks to
@ClubChapin for the idea!

My buddy and artist extraordinaire
@zavod44 has been working on a project for me as well. This badge is made from Ebony wood, and has "Bisbee" inlaid in copper letters. It is thematic with the copper inlaid "Weber" handle he did for me last year. Simply stunning work!

As for the rack - I am very satisfied with how it came out. I secured the copper bars to the frame using special black chrome acorn nuts. Besides being functional, I think the mod really ties in the top half of the kettle with the bottom half. Those bars are really stout!

It is really hard to get good pictures of this kettle with all the shiny surfaces. I miss having access to
@pbe gummi bear talents!

@Winz I've restored quite a few 1st generation Performers back to their original glory, but you have gone over the top! That sir is art! At it's best! You are the Performer artist!

Amazing!
WOW!!!!!!! That would have to go in my living room! I need to go back and find your sliding charcoal bin mod. I barely use my charcoal bin since I usually have something sitting on the lid when I am grilling.
As you know, I LOVE this grill! Every time I think its perfect you take it up another notch. Awesome work and creativity! Bisbee should be in a museum some day.

As you know, the genesis of this grill was your idea.
Bisbee may end up in a museum - I will probably end up in the nut house... :)
