Title: Shipping to Canada
Post by: Darko on March 16, 2016, 09:15:08 PM
I'm just curious. You folks that have shipped kettles to Canada, what is the typical shipping cost? USPS, UPS, FedEx... what's better?

From the US Fedex is expensive.  Good for @SixZeroFour he has a US address also.

It might come down to a difference of a few dollars here-and-there.
I have received via UPS and FedEx, and I think FedEx may have been a little better.
Use a zip code and get some estimates on the site of each courier.

I have shipped some SJs to the US and I prefer using FedEx Ground.

I'm very lucky to live only 20min from the border so a PO box saves me hundreds of dollars a year in shipping costs. Large boxes are already expensive and as soon as it crosses a border expect that to nearly double due to duty, taxes and brokerage. Some businesses can ship cross border a lot cheaper but residential shipments are always nasty.

Price wise UPS and FedEx are generally pretty close. I prefer FedEx between the two if you have the choice.

@Darko . You're not too far from the border.  Maybe set-up a PO box across the ditch (Niagara River).
Pickings are slim here in Ontario, unless you like 3-4 year old black OTS's ....  ;)

I actually have a place I can go across the ditch. I just need to get a new passport.
