Im looking at the one on amazon for 47.99 where the lid doubles as a 10" skillet...
Anyone know if the height of the dutch oven will fit inside a 22.5" kettle?
Yes easily
It'll fit, but to take full advantage of the DO put it in the grill's basement (rest it on coals & some across the lid)

ENJOY
I have one that fits perfect (w/o lid) UNDER the food grate.....and another big one that I usually use down on the charcoal grate, but up on small firebrick so the legs don't get hooked in the grate.....there's various ways to use them.....
I'll get measurements & pics of what I'm talking about if that helps.....?
@1buckie...
Thanks

That's an interesting one.....with a sort of deep lid (think I've seen the one you're talking about)
This is a 12 qt. I believe....set on 3" x 3' firebrick in a "T" shape to let the legs just hang.....it won't fit under the lid while on the cook grate....

@Winz knows a lot about D. O.'s, as do numerous other folks.....somebody will know the right size & it may very well be that one you're considering....
5 qt. I believe....

Mr. Boldtz already says it will....didn't see that..... :-[
@toolhead Glad to see you are thinking about a DO. They are a ton of fun and very rewarding to cook with. The more you use them, the better they get. I will give you my $.02 - I have ovens ranging from 8" to 16". Here is a shot of a 10" (4 quarts) and a 12" (6 quarts). Both of them are approximately 3.75" deep and both will fit on a weber cooking grate with the lid on.

If I were only to get one DO, it would be a 12". It will hold 50% more food, but more importantly, it is a good all around size to feed two or twelve. It is the one oven I use most. They also make a 12" deep oven which holds 8 quarts.
The other thing about the 12" is that it really works well with your grill. If you get a gourmet grate, you can do cool things like this:

Let us know what you end up with. This is a pretty good page to discuss the various sizes:

I have a 5qt and 7qt, but not the loop handle type (also has no legs). The lid does not double as a skillet, but has spikes on it which catch steam on the inside of the pot and self baste whatever is inside. I love them.
All I could find is a 3qt dutch oven in that configuration. Do you have a link to the 5qt version?
@mlmack use an "at" symbol before someone's name when you ask a question so they know you are looking for them!
