Chicken Lollipops
« on: April 09, 2014, 05:58:38 PM »
Here's my first attempt at chicken lollipops, actually pretty happy with the way they turned out.
Prepped half with Simply Marvelous sweet and spicy and half Plowboys Yardbird rub...

Finished with Baby Ray's that I thinned down a little with a little Worcestershire sauce and Apple cider vinegar, I then added a little honey... Turned out sticky, sweet, with a little heat, which was what I was going for.

Thanks to Diva Q (I followed her you tube video for the prep)

they look fantastic!

do you have a fast way of frenching those drums? Everytime I do it I get annoyed at the prep time. (I also do a couple dozen at a time)

GREAT job!!!  Those are works of art & conversation pieces, and I just HAVE to try them.  I found an orange marmalade sriracha sauce on tvwbb.com that I absolutely love on chicken, and Chicken lollipops look like the perfect carrier for that sweet heat.  I can't wait to give it a try.  A friend is doing a crawfish boil this weekend, and I promised to brings ribs.  I may add this to the list and give them something to talk about.  Now I have to go find the Diva Q YouTube video so that I can put 2 & 2 together to make folks happy.  Thanks for posting!

Thanks, that sauce sounds awesome! I was initially going to use something like that but couldn't find a good recipe. Sounds like you've got a great opportunity to try them out. I just searched chicken lollipops on YouTube....
