Used some of my herb garden
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:35:20 AM »
I grow Basil, Chives, Thyme, Oregano and Rosemary herbs for cooking, plus a copious amount of mint for various liquid refreshments.

Last week I used fresh herbs in a few dinners.

This one was Oregano and red Pepper marinated Chicken & Smoked Italian Sausage served over rigatoni with a fresh herb tomato sauce.  In a pinch, I often take the cheapest store brand red sauce I can find (Great Value Wal Mart in this case!) and add fresh herbs to it.  You would be amazed at what it does to a dollar jar of sauce.  This sauce had sauteed onion & Garlic,  roasted peppers, fresh basil, fresh oregano, and a small amount of chives added to it.  It was terrific.
