Babyback Ribs on WSM

Tried my best to follow this recipe...  http://virtualweberbullet.com/rib1.html

Deviated by using apple wood instead of oak/cherry mix and used Sweet Baby Rays instead of KC Masterpiece for the sauce.

Used some honey from my parent's hive mixed with SB Ray's for the sauce...








Recipe was good.  I would use this dry rub again.  Still searching for an amazing sauce/glaze for the comps...

Rub recipe....
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup non-iodized table salt
1/8 cup brown sugar, dried
4 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon Accent (MSG)
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder

is this clean out the fridge/pantry day?

makes me hungry none the less.

lol...this was a work 9 hours, then drive home and quickly throw ribs on the smoker kind of day.  sides took a backseat.   ;)

I could always eat snap peas though...yumm!

i eat pickles and onions with all my bbq tho....just how i roll... 8)

Those look fantastic! +1 on the Sweet Baby Rays. I love using apple wood on ribs, I sometimes use an apple/pecan mix with good results.

So was that no water in the WSM pan, but a small pan of water on the cooking grate?

That is correct.  I always throw in a water bowl anytime I use my WSM.  Especially for ribs and brisket.  I foil the big water pan above the coals and put the one you saw on the cooking grate for ease of cleanup. Works for me.   :D

I do both.  I don't know if that's how others do it or not.  I change the foil across the top after each cook and only change the bottom foil if any accidentally drips down.  I do both because I hate cleaning grease off that water pan.
