Kettle fried chicken

Been seeing this pop up here and there so I gave it a try tonight. Didn't realize I ran out of bread crumbs and also had no corn flakes in the house so had to use shake and bake. Not too happy about that, but it will do. Also made some portobellos filled with butter, garlic powder, salt pepper, cheese and some shake and bake on top. Here's the pictures.

Yeah it was good. Really juicy and the coating crisped up nice. The Portos were great as well. Also used some cherry wood.

That looks great. I would love to try those mushrooms, but I would be the only one in my family eating them :(

I tried the kettle fried chicken a couple of times with different batters and found the Louisiana branded one at one of the grocery stores I go to. If it's available to you locally, give it a try. The spices really kick it up a notch.
