Never heard of these, I am going to have to give them a try over the weekend.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

I'm glad you guys like these! I'm getting hungry for some more just looking at the ones you guys have all done. Nice job guys!! Such a quick and easy recipe. My mother recently sent me a file containing a similar recipe that I need to review...

not being derogatory(I've never had a loose meat sandwich), but texture aside(it's obvious from the pics. beef crumbles), what's the flavor profile like? tacos? sloppy joes? meatloaf? chopped bbq?

Good question.... to me its sort of a beefy, oniony....brothy type flavor. Definitely not dry with the ingredients used. Nice and moist. Another nickname for these could be UNsloppy Joes..... or also known as a "Tavern Sandwich" (I've never called it that) but here's Wikipedia's take on it...

based on the wiki link. seems like it's just beef and onion topped w/whatever. may have to try it based on the raves it gets.

Made these tonight on the stove, I still don't have a pan for the kettle so I broke out the big all clad stainless. I gotta say these were tasty little morsels. The family was very happy. The only thing I added was mayonnaise on my buns. Everything is better with mayo. It also prevents the bun from getting soggy/

Plated and very yummy. A little Mac-n-cheese on the side.
