First off, this was a late-day decision.
Second, I am by no means a SB expert.
Only done it once or twice before with satisfactory results.

There was some leftover used lump in the MT.
Decided to light some small oak chunks that I harvested about 4 years ago.
Dumped them onto the lump.

On went the Manturion griddle to warm-up.
Put some homemade beef tallow on, then some sliced onions.

Made a total of eleven 3oz balls, plus two 2¼oz balls.
This small cast iron skillet was used for smashing.
It worked out okay, but I would prefer to get a better smash tool.
I ended up doing two batches.

I definitely want to work on my SB game.
Would have preferred smaller buns, and I was all out of American cheddar.
Went with sliced pickles and some mustard and ketchup.

Thanks for looking!

Burgers look great Mark! Beef Tallow FTW!

Had no idea you had a manturian griddle - what a sweet accessory! Where did you snag that beauty?!?

Hope all is well,

Matt

Thanks guys!
Forgot to mention that after flipping, I dusted the patties with some homemade SPG.

Hey Matt! I have had it for about 7-8 years.
Was super stoked when I got it.
It was a listing down in Oakville by a very nice family from South Africa.
An economy kettle came with the deal, which I promptly sold for $10. lol

I use the griddle mainly for big breakfasts when we visit friends at their cottage.
It's a great accessory.

Awesome cook right there....been too long since we've smashed some burgers.  Fun to cook, but very hot!  Nice job.
