Yellow has a soft handle
« on: February 16, 2023, 03:20:03 AM »
So a while back i picked up a MBH yellow. However, the front handle is pretty soft, meaning it feels like it wants to break off. Anyone have any tips on how to strengthen it?

Drilling a small hole in the tab of each side of the handle, then  securing with very small stainless steel bolt, nut and washer works. I have used this method to secure handles that have broken off and ones that feel soft as you describe.  I usually remove all the rust possible using #0000 steel wool. Once completed the small bolt head is barely visible on the outside.

If you have a Tractor Supply company near by, they have a good selection of nuts, bolts, etc

Here is an example of the size bolts I use. Although the photos are from a lid handle, I have used the same repair method to reattach mbh’s.
