Cooked some prime filet and some wagyu ribeye. My adult daughter has been making fancy cookies lately

I bought it at a meat market on the near north side of Indy. Myself and a friend bought 4 ribeyes and two New York strips for the obscene amount of $89 per pound. It just said wagyu. I don't think it looked like a5 so I'm not sure where it was from. We should have asked but they were busy. We also cooked a prime filet and a prime New York strip so we had a good comparison. The wagyu was super tender but flavor wise they were comparable to prime in my opinion. I think prime is the sweet spot for value because the wagyu was not 4-5 times better than the prime.  That's a one time thing for me but it was fun to do.

I too was not impressed especially at the price point difference, for me it was worth the try for being informed

Well done. I have heard that wagyu isn't really wagyu, unless it's A-5.

I hope it was as good as it looks.Regardless of cost, if the first bite puts a big smile on my face, it's worth it.
