I added another vintage wok to the collection, this time the newer post-1977 version.  When I pulled it out of the box, I could immediately tell it was slightly different than the older version.  The newer wok felt heavier and flexed less.  Some quick measurements confirmed the newer wok is 1.2mm thick with 6mm handles while the older wok is .8mm thick with 5mm handles.  The newer wok weighed in at about 6.8 lbs while the older wok weighs 6.4 lbs.  Here are some pics of the boxes and differences in brackets.  Now that I've handled both, I believe the latter version is the better of the two.

Thanks for looking.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Very cool. I've got the newest wok pre-insert and love it. These are definitely cool

Interesting.  The NIB Weber Wok I recently acquired has a different box than the two photos you posted.  The box lists the model as #8301.   The single page instructions that came in the box is dated 1/82.  This Wok originally sold at Orchard Supply Hardware for $42.88 (sticker price).  Somewhere along the it's life it was resold for $10 (handwritten price on the box). Probably a garage or estate sale.  I can only wish I had purchased it at either of those prices.

It has this style of bracket.
