Excited to give this a whirl. Can't decide if I should do pizza first or something rotisserie...

Sweet Christmas gift!
I suggest rotisserie chicken as your first cook!

Love my rotisserie, recommend a whole chicken first - but I use the vortex a lot more....less of a production I guess is the main reason.  I recommend trying chicken wings on the Vortex.  Also, there's a learning curve on kettle pizza.  It's fun but usually has a little stress involved - at least for me because things move so quickly.  Pizzas are much easier to turn when using a pan.  I need more practice just using the stone.

Parchment paper makes cooking pizzas a lot easier. I could never get them to come off the peel properly. Started cooking them on parchment paper and never looked back.
Vortex wings are definitely easy and rewarding. 45-50 minutes with a single flip for perfect wings every time.

Have you tried corn meal? It helps with transferring and gives a nice little added crunch
