And I'm still blown away...as to this being a true "Limited Edition" model, or is it really an unlimited model? Meaning Weber will mass produce as many of these as they can, satisfying the market demand so everyone who wants one can get one.
And what is the pricing going to be?

Personally, not interested. Already have 3 kettles and a smoker in the cooking rotation.

as much as i love the energy - the giant thermo badge seems fugly, i assume they'll be removable though

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I saw the post on FB and said awesome then saw how they did the badges and thought ehh no thanks.

I feel like if you're going to do a 70th anniversary this was not the right approach. Do something truly unique like some flat top 26ers in a range of colors or something.

What they did feels a lot like what Harley did on their 100th anniversary models:

I love the badge, anyone who doesn't want theirs shoot me a PM.

I'm personally blown away by the lack of patience some people are showing over lack of information.  These images were leaks, the first pictures (the ones removed) were removed from FB groups at the direct request of Weber.  No official announcement has been made, and rest assured when it IS made, all of your questions will be answered.

In terms of lack of red...they tried that with the LE a couple of years ago and got huge blowback for quality control and the fact that they had to be enameled in China because of US regulations on the red dye.  They're not going down that path again anytime soon.

That's all fine and dandy, but at what cost, and is this truly a limited production run of XXXX number of sales?
My guess is Weber will mass market these, so everyone who wants one will get one. That is not a collectable.

Just keep one of each color in the box for 30 or 40 years, then you will have pristine collectibles.

How many copies is this limited to? 500? 1000? 2000?
Or is it really unlimited, with everyone who wants one getting to obtain one? If this is the case, it will not be a "rare" collectable. At least not for many years.
And what is the cost?

Wow. Asking the same questions about a product you're "personally not interested in" whose pictures shouldn't have seen the light of day and no one is even supposed to know about isn't going to get them answered any faster.  Wait for the official announcement.

So the features that they are bringing back for these kettles, the white wall throwbacks, the wood grained plastic handles, rollers, and tab as well as the thermometer bezel; the very things that differentiate these grills from all the other modern grills doesn't put them in the category of collectible?  The "collectible" category is based on pure numbers produced?  Damn, by that definition, I'm going to have to sell off my entire collection. Well everything except the Glen Blue 26er since they only produced around 1000 of those.  I guess I can't even call it my "collection" since they were pretty much all mass marketed at one point or another so everyone could get one. SMDH.

Nothing wrong with collecting items that are mass marketed. Not at all.
