Green C&B 2nd Gen performer
« on: September 19, 2021, 07:33:38 PM »
So I'm still new-ish to the world of Weber, amd I'm TRYING not to become a collector (yeah....right). So please forguve my ignorance with this one.
I came across this the other day. I haven't been to see it yet and I'm trying to decide if this particular one is worth the drive as well as the cash.

Gen 2, Grass Green with GA in "excellent condition."
BUT....the igniter isn't working. He's been using a lighter.
Also missing the coal bin.
He's throwing in a coal rake, a chimney starter, a cover, and 5 bags of charcoal.
And he's asking $225.
Is this like WAY off or is it me?

Ive seen better deals, but that color is pretty scarce.
If you are really wanting that color, I would get it,
as long as the grates are in good condition.
5 bags of charcoal alone is about $50 to $75 at the
current going rate.  You can gab a new charcoal bin
or "trash can" as many call it...  LOL for about $40.

9 times out of 10 the igniter can be fixed by simply clearing an obstruction inside the burner tube.   I believe these models had the stainless steel sweepers as well.

Yeah...
I am definitely on the fence about it.
I could get a black Gen 3 for $100 so that may go over better with SWMBO

That green is one of my favorites.
Throw a steel table on and it's perfect.

And the lower rack is catawampus.

That would probably explain the missing bin - they couldn't get it to attach, so they either lost it or threw it away.
