Anyone use Royal Oak lump coal?
We have used B&B Lump, and Cowboy Lump. I like Cowboy as it lights faster, and pieces are more consistent in size.
B&B has huge chunks, mixed with small pieces.
How about Royal Oak?

I don't use RO because of the trash that I keep finding in it.
Rocks I understand but fiberglass insulation, broken glass, pieces of rope and string...Not for me...

Dang…that is serious!
My bag of B&B has large log-like pieces, better suited for an offset firebox smoker than a kettle. In the mix you will find smaller pieces also.
The Cowboy lump is more uniform.

Royal Oak was great years ago. Sadly I agree with Smoke Freak. Has really gone downhill. If you are a costco member watch for the Kamado Joe lump to go on sale. I got 4 20 lb bags for $80 and it has been good. Some shake but mostly big chunks.
