I'm not sure if this is the right spot for it, but here goes.

My dad has a fruit orchard and I have told him to get me the cuttings from his trees so I can use for smoking. The first bunch he brought down was Plum and some Mulberry. The yellow coloured ones are the Mulberry, and the redish ones are Plum. I have two queries. Are they any good for smoking? And are the sizes I have cut them to about what you would expect to use in a Kettle?

Cheers.
If it breathes, we can cook it!

Hey Joe,

Yes, both of those a great for smoking. You might want to let them dry out for a while though.

As for the size, I'd say the smaller ones are pretty much perfect, you could possibly halve the larger but I have used a similar size in my kettles with plenty of success.

Let me know if you have too much of it, I would be more than happy to help you out with it. :)

As Kendoll said, definitely great wood for smoking. Just gotta season it for a few months.
