New style Jumbo Joe/welded handle?

I've been wanting to swap out the taco lid on my new style 18.5" Jumbo Joe for a welded handle lid.  I haven't attempted it yet.  Figuring out the best way to go about fabricating the lid lock/bale is what is holding me up.

Has anyone here done that type of mod?
