LATEST RESTO FINISHED - 1988 GEN2
« on: February 16, 2021, 10:32:59 PM »
Hey Guys, due to the abrupt 5 day lock down in Melbourne (Australia) I managed to finish my latest project.

It's an 1988 GEN2. Overall condition was good when I got it. A lot of surface rust due to being near the beach. Works include:
- Firebox and lid end caps sandblasted
- Frame taken back to bare metal
- All parts sanded, primed and painted
- All timber sanded back to raw and stained
- All parts cleaned

Unfortunately one might be on the chopping block due to space restrictions and 2 other projects on the go [emoji1787]

***sorry pic heavy***

Absolutely stunning, nice RRR and a sweet lineup
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Great job on the restore.
In my opinion old Genesis are the best Genesis.

Beautiful restore, that’s quality work and attention to detail.

That’s a sweet collection of Genesis gas grills.

I started a redhead resto with 13 flavorizer bars last summer and the project has not been completed.

Thanks for sharing your cool collection!

Cheers

Nicest Weber gas grills I've seen.  You've put a lot of work into those and it shows.  Grate job!

Cheers mate, yeah a fair bit of work but love doing it!! I've got 2 others on the go at the moment, just waiting on sourcing some parts.

That looks good mate!! Have you gone for a gloss finish on the end caps?

Yes I went with gloss black on the end caps and flat black on the firebox.

Please post pictures of the two grills your currently working when your finished.

WOW.  Just beautiful work and quite the lineup you have there. I just love the older Gennies with wood slats and you've got the goods. Well done
