Pork Belly

So once again Mr. Reed has inspired me to another attempt of a recipe. Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Bought two big packs of pork belly from Costco. About 8lbs per package. Cost about 25.00 per pack. Only doing one pack tonight. Have then on the SmokeFire. Started at 265, for an hour. Then turned it up to 350. For another hour, then cranked it to 400, approx 45 minutes. Took them off, put in foil pans. Added sauce to each pan. Replaced on grill. Turned temp down too 250. Will post final pics soon.

Oh heck yes!
My wife won't eat pork belly. No idea since she loves bacon...

So here it is finished. Seems to be ok. Got to let it cool down a bit.

Tastes different. I was expecting a bacon flavor. It doesn’t taste like bacon. But it’s still really good. Oh yeah, my wife really liked it...

Looks grate! I’ve done those a few times, but my family is not a fan of all the fat. I make pork burnt ends with pork shoulder usually.
You won’t have a traditional bacon flavor because it’s not cured.
