I recently scored a Gen 4 Performer Deluxe from a Craigslist post. There is no "CODE" marked in the vent of the kettle lid. How can I determine when this unit was built?

Welcome to the Forum.  Does the lid vent have a serial number?  Weber has gone to serial numbers on kettles and the stamping is very light and faint compared to the older letter code stampings.  There should be a sticker on the back panel of your Performer that has the serial number.

Welcome! Picture of the top vent will help the folks here confirm but if you're sure about it being Gen 4 and no single/double digit codes it is as new as 2015.  Do you see a serial number on the top vent?  Back panel of the cart should give you plenty of details.

Welcome, from just outside Chicago & right by O'hare.  I tried moving to San Diego, but "they" wouldn't let me in.

I swear, when I score a great deal on a 26" I'll stop buying grills... So often.
