Howdy all!!!
Got to a yard/estate sale early enough & lucked into a decent H- code brownie with a roti ring.....pretty sure it's a Weber ring of that same time period, but no motor, no spit or forks/tines....

What's a good, strong motor that would fit a rig like this?
Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

Nice!  I haven't had to buy them separately so not sure but I'm sure someone will chime in. It's a nice accessory. You will have fun with that.

@1buckie, it looks like you have a vintage roti ring based on the squared support tabs and the hole opposite of the motor bracket.  The modern roti rings have a notch cut out opposite the motor bracket which makes it easier to insert the spit.  (Look at the pics Walchit posted of his modern ring for comparison).

The spit you're looking for is shorter and will not have a handle (to fit through the hole opposite the bracket).  The motor you're looking for has a protruding "sleeve" into which the spit is inserted, and fits into the bracket using two screws.  Unfortunately a modern motor/spit will not work for your ring.

Sweet brownie, BTW.

So.....
I've scouted around a bit & not quite sure what might work here?
As Mr.CPHo says, it's an older one.....Jason (LiquidOcelot) is saying Onlyfire should easily work, Rick says a gasser model......need to go look a a few in person & see what's up I suppose......

I wonder if this would work with minimal modification.

That's the one I was eyeballing....
I think, from measuring generally Jason is right about  the length.....32 or 33" looks about right to fit into the motor end & have some out the other side to hang barbells 'n' shit on......

Also, here at work, there's all kinds of fittings & bearings laying around.....we rarely throw stuff out unless it gets in the way......all types of used things I might be able to fix a far side bearing for the rod......
It's "undercover" here at work....the wife knows nothing yet......

This one says it fits up to a 26" grill, I think it said 32.5 spit length
