Today it didn’t feel right to BBQ
« on: October 24, 2019, 08:18:21 PM »
This is a few miles from my home in Santa Clarita, CA. The home and family are safe as long as the winds are blowing in the direction they are. Was thinking of BBQ’ing some hamburgers in the fridge earlier today but it just doesn’t seem right to fire up charcoal on a day like this. Cooked hamburgers inside on the stove today for the first time in at least 3 years.

Keep safe @foshizzle

We continue to watch how things play out up here. We’ll see what the next wind event brings.
Dude, relax your chicken.

Not looking forward to Saturday and Sunday this weekend here in the Bay Area of California.  40-50 mph winds predicted with gust to 70-80 mph.  Red Flag Warning issued and PGE, our Northern California power supplier is activating Power Safety Shut Offs to prevent fires from starting by down power lines.   One half of my town is having it's power shut off during this event.  I was lucky to have not lost power on the last power shut down.  Might not be so lucky this time as the PGE map shows my street is included in the shut off.  Biggest problem is the power isn't restored for 48-72 hours. That being said, I will be using my Weber gasser this weekend.  Any smell of smoke during these events even worries me.

Address lookup says it’s not gonna happen for us, but...

“PG&E Safety Alert: Due to weather forecast, PG&E may turn off power in a portion of your service area. More info: pge.com/pspsupdates. Text UNENROLL to unsubscribe.”

We lost power last time.

I want the old days when all I had to worry about was a kettle blowing over
Dude, relax your chicken.
