Figured at that price, I would give them a try.
Out of the package, there were 4.5 lbs of whole wings.

Trimmed off the tips, and cut them into the drummette and forearm pieces.

Squeezed 6 limes and cut up some onion and garlic for a marinade.
Ended up marinating for 2 hours.

Decided to braise these.  Added half a container of Korena bbq sauce / marinade.

After 1.5 hours of braising, I opened it up and put the pieces on the grill.
Not very long on the direct side.  Then 10 minutes indirect with the lid closed.

They picked up some really nice colour.
We were pleasantly impressed with these.
Not overly meaty like a chicken wing, but good flavour.

Thanks for looking.  :D

Very interesting. I've never seen them in any of my local grocery stores. Will definitely give them a try if I ever find them!

Yeah, definitely not a common thing at a regular grocery store.
I got these at my local Asian grocery store.
Been shopping there a lot since they opened about a year ago.

Those are ugly looking LOL, I guess since a duck can fly and most chickens can't makes the difference in appearance, but man I love the cook method and how they turned out, I have a bunch of places near me that I am sure I can buy those, I am definitely going to try this.
@MacEggs would you do them again? would you change anything method wise?
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

@JEBIV , probably not, but that said, I liked the method I chose.
I like to try various methods, so I guess I sharpened my braising skills.  ;D ;) 8)

Appreciate you trying something different and sharing. I've had soy sauce duck wings from Asian delis but didn't think to try cooking them on the kettle. Thanks for the idea!

Damn! Looks like roadkill, or bushmeat LOL!

I love duck, so my thought would be to strip the meat and use it something like a risotto... or omelette or even as a pizza topping... or just eat them like you did.
