I'd been holding off the Slow N Sear for the Summit. I've had them for other grills but didn't think I would need it for the Summit. This was my first cook with it and I'm glad I got decided to get it. Cooked a tomahawk and a T-bone. Great results.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

I just had steak and now I'm ready for more after seeing this.

I'm guessing the sns provided a great sear versus without it in the summit?

Honestly I think I could have gotten a good sear without it, but the SNS does such a nice job of keeping the coals compact and in one place. To me, it was worth it for that reason.

I've been debating getting a SnS for the Summit.  I have one for the Performer, and thought about trimming it to fit the Summit (decided against it for now).  I pulled out the Weber wire baskets and they're a hair too tall.  The stainless baskets worked great, and I thought they did better than the SnS.  Today I have myself talked out of it, but tomorrow may be a different story.

Today is a different story.  The SnS low profile arrived yesterday.
