I need to send 2-18"'kettles to a member, and I wonder if anyone has ever packed two grills  into one box to save money?  Would it be cost effective(weight/box size)?  Will put the kettles too great risk of damage?

Any pros/cons or packaging tips would be appreciated.

It would be very hard to pack two kettles in one box in a manner that wouldn't risk damage without using a huge box.
Have you looked into shipping by bus?
I believe that through this broker you can ship multiple packages that are going to the same destination for one low rate.

I wouldn't do it, you can condense an 18 pretty small to where it wouldn't make the cost that much more.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

LB, you wouldn't ship in one container, or you wouldn't ship by bus?

I've shipped two 18s together.

It was challenging and two separate boxes would have been easier and probably safer.

I've shipped two rare colored 22" MBH's in the same box. I even took pics when I packed it. @Craig when did I ship that box of MBH's to you?

Interesting.  If you can round up some pictures of how you packed it, I'd like to see them.
