This will be an on going, updated when new things are done, no rush resto of this guy i got for free today. Welcome my newest addition the elegant and elusive Genesis 5000. Picked it up for free today and plan to get it back into like new order. Its really in great shape. Usual things are warn out or missing but its about 93% complete.

Whats missing-
1 glass door and most of the door hardware of the 2 remaining.
1 flavorizer bar (odd i know).

Whats there-
All but 1 stainless steel flavorizer all in really good shape.
The steam and smoke box.
The G5000 serving tray.

What needs to be restored/replaced/converted-
Its natral gas, luckily for me i have a spare valve assembly from the LP one i used to make my work table.
The glass doors are probably gonna go and be replaced by a wood door setup.
New grates.
The ignighter will be swapped with a new electric style.
The flame keep thing will be gone with the LP conversion.

Not much of a gasser guy but knowing how few and far between G5k's are the only thing that woulda been as good or better is a jr.

Stay tuned as i catalog my progress

I have the glass doors and hardware in my parts box if you want them. I'm not a fan of them myself so I understand if you don't want them. I deleted the flame keep thing on the one I rebuilt too.
A bunch of black kettles

Thanks but im probably going to do a bifold style wood door on one side and a single swing on the other side. Everything is gonna be stained to match. If i decide for some reason i like the glass doors ill let you know

I would highly encourage you to renew to factory specs.  That is a pretty rare
commodity that you have there.   Sure to fetch a pretty penny if fully restored.
