54-55 Weber kettle in the wild
« on: August 06, 2018, 07:12:23 PM »
Well, posted on Facebook site Weber Kettle Fans. It's creating quite a bit of conversation since being posted minutes ago.  Here is the text from the post:

"Was at a friends place up north over the weekend. He said this is a Weber. No name on the top vent wheel. Said it was old in the 80’s already. Pretty good shape for 40 plus years outdoors!
Anyone know anything about it?"

I was picturing up in the sky over the grill a silhouette of the Weber logo in a spotlight. Then Stephen seeing this light and flying off into the night to rescue this grill.

Someone with software and talent should MEME that up.

I’m assuming that is not Ernie’s grill.

Judging by the stance (front leg to wheels) its a different kettle.

So cool!  Looks to be in really good shape overall...I’m amazed how good the wheels and lid vent look overall considering it looks like it’s spent it’s life in the north woods.

I’m up for this. Surely, if we all make a run for this beautiful historic kettle one of us must beat Harris92 to it. [emoji16]

Your assumption is correct.  Would love to see ‘em side by side, at the meet-up one day.  There’d be plenty of phones/cameras with a lotta less memory space left.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞
