I like the bellybutton vent.  Not the prettiest but at least it's inatalled on that flimsy aluminum door and you don't ya e to bend all the way down to adjust the temp.

Some folks claim they need more air for high heat like chicken.

It would be bad if Weber did it, because heat doesn't go sideways. It rises. WSMs should have enough intake area for higher heat. What they lack for that is more exhaust. That extra vent would be effective UP, on the lid.
