Temp probes - Meat vs Ambient - beginner question
« on: April 23, 2018, 12:33:13 PM »
Good day
Beginner question
I have a 22" performer and planning to cook some babyback's (low n slow)
I do not have an "ambient" probe... But I do have a meat probe (Bluetooth)
Will this serve the same purpose if I place it at grill level during the cook?

It should. You would need to mount it where it wasn’t directly laying on the grate. Some people take a potato, cut it in half and push the probe through that. A ball of aluminum foil works too.
