I have a 8 lb Butt to smoke for supper bowl
I have  2 22 WSM's and a bunch on 22 grills and  aco. What do I use???
I can't stop lovin my Weber!!!
2-22 WSM, 22.5 gold, 22.5 MT code EE Red Head ,22.5 AH in Green ,18 silver , Green SSP code EI,Weber Ranch,mini WSM black,4-smokey joes black, lime, copper, crimson Sjg  IQ120 electric 22.5 silver economy 2004..that makes 15. I know WEBERITIS !!

The oven! LMAO. IMO not enough to setup a WSM. I'd go snake on a 22".

I would cut the butt in half.  And I'd put it in the WSM around 6AM.   I've done the snake method on kettles and have run out of snake before getting through the stall.  The WSM is set it and forget it. Then you can use the kettle for wings!
Cutting in half serves 2 purposes.   1) Cuts cook time by a few hrs.  Even L+S at 250, it will be done by game time.
2) Two halves equals more bark!  Can't go wrong with more bark!!!
