Breaking in my 18.5 OTP - 25 minute wings
« on: December 20, 2017, 08:51:30 AM »
I broke in the grill I bought from @Jed.cook  last night.  To my surprise the medium vortex fits in an 18.5.  I didn’t think it would.   I was able to do wings last night with half a chimney of KBB in 25 minutes.  Since I only used half of a chimney it was fully lit way faster than lighting a full chimney.  I’m thinking I should be able to do wings from start (lighting the chimney) to finish in 35-40 minutes, plus I’ll be wasting a lot less charcoal with this grill.

Looks great.  What'd you put on them?

I need to move an 18.5 into the regular rotation.
Wanted: Burgundy 18"

I spray with a little EVOO, then season with Mortons Seasoned Salt, garlic powder and onion powder.

Maybe I'll have to let you "borrow" a few of my grills so we can keep both of our ladies happy!!!!  Holly is working from home today so maybe I'll have to brave the snow and cook her some wings on your old grill for lunch to smooth things over!
