Wish my kids showed a little interest in cooking!  One is almost a vegetarian!  (Not from my cooking) other will eat anything just not into cooking.

But yes very nice cooks

I am really fortunate all my grandkids absolutely love the process. But there is a couple picky eaters in there :-( The two that are turning stuff on the grill, will wipe out anything that comes off the grill. If they are young enough just set them on the counter let them watch and help out.

Those drumsticks look ridiculously delicious! Can you share your batter or breading recipe?
Thank you! @ bigmikey deserves the inspiration credit on that. I have not figured out how to post a link with the mobile ap yet. Look up"vortex fried chicken". My dredge is the same one that I've been using for years that my mom  taught me as a kid.
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1 TBS salt
-1 TBS black pepper
-1 TBS paprika
-2 tsp corn starch
Add whatever spices you want to change the flavor profile.

Dry the chicken after cleaning, dredge, dip in an egg/milk wash, dredge again.

That is most defined smoke ring I've ever seen!

That all looks wonderful! I have always been a proponent of kids in the kitchen and the BBQ. In fact, I bought my 8 year old grand daughter her own Weber SJ (copper to match Pop-Pop's 22.5") for her birthday... What a blast!
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

@hawgheaven Yup, you are the coolest Pop Pop ever! You have to get them interested early. Otherwise it is all "McScumbo's,Taco Hell or Burger Thing" Way to go Pop Pop!

Here you go guys,@bigmikey killed it the 1st time through. This was my inspiration, although I just used the tried and true "Mom's Dredge",double dipped. Let it sit on a cooling rack until all the dredge is completely wet.Top and bottom vents wide open. Indirect and HOT is key whether you use a votex, poortex,SNS, charcoal baskets or just a big pile of charcoal in the middle.

My list of things to try on the grill keeps growing. All your food looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Everything looks spot on!  It's more than awesome that your kids get involved in your cooks.  I tried with my boys when they were young but they were too busy with video games.

Looks like some delicious cooks! I am curious to learn more about your grill & that green table with the umbrella. I will definitely check out the vortex / vortex fried chicken instructions. That sounds like another thing to try soon..
