Did some kebabs on the vintage shish kabob ring last night...really simple recipe:

Pork loin (cubed)
chunks of two pineapples
a healthy dose of Weber Classic BBQ seasoning.

Sorry no finished pics...they were devoured too quickly!

Craig, it is one of my absolute favorite weeknight cooks...I used pork loin because it was on sale, but with pork tenderloin it's heavenly.  I used the shish ring because we had people over!

When I grill pineapple, I baste that with a butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract/Myer's Dark rum sorta.

That looks fabulous.  I think I'll do this with some country ribs this weekend...

Stupid question (and, yes there are some, I ask them all the time ) . . .

Why alternate the handles instead of putting all of them on the same side?

Foosball.

If you look at the ring, there is a slot then an hole alternating around the ring.  Slip in the end, drop in the handle side.  I would suspect handle clearance and also -when cutting the metal to form the ring, too many cuts in the edge may make it harder to shape and hold its form.

They had a heck of a time getting the center section of the WSM to hold it's shape and form due to the large rectangular cut out.  It wants to kink there.

Im fairly new here and haven't seen the kabob ring before but I sure like the looks of it. I take it that they are hard to find. Great cook by the way.

Got it.  Didn't notice that.

They are a cool accessory...I've used them three times now...they work best if you keep the grill grate below, as the center skewers tend to sag a lot with the weight of the food.  I'm thinking of refinishing the handles at some point.
