Pork Belly Burnt Ends (14" WSM)
« on: September 08, 2017, 09:57:44 PM »
One of my good friends owns a Powder Coating shop in SoCal ( http://www.denmac-ind.com ).  He also does some side biz once in while.  He told me about this new high temp paint so I offered up my little WSM.  Tonight was the test run.

On the top floor for 2 1/2 hours.

Time for some more Rub, Butter and Honey and back in for 1 1/2 hours.

Out of the gooey bath and back on for 15 minutes.

Done.  And OH SO GOOD.

If curious about the paint here is the website
https://www.cerakoteguncoatings.com

Thanks for looking.

Love that color. I see where the loading door wasn't a tight fit and the body got some blackening to it.
Have you tried wiping that down yet?

Very curious how this holds up to the heat. I have a few vendors I deal with that do powder coating. Might want to try it.

So questions I have as I am somewhat familiar with cerakote as well as powder coat

How did they prep??  Did they blast it down to bare metal or apply on top of the oe ceramic

Also could you inquire and find out a ballpark price on what that would run the average joe?  I'm sure this was a favor or good friend discount being a prototype but I am curious as I am into custom things
